The anniversary concert in honor of the 70th anniversary of the rule of Elizabeth II.
Another bright event in the week of the celebration of the anniversary. Buckingham Palace hosted a grand concert, which began with the performance of the rock band Queen and Adam Lambert, who performed several of their legendary hits.
Other guest performers included Alicia Keys, Mabel, Andrea Bocelli, Hans Zimmer, and Annie Lennox. The recording also featured a performance by Elton John. The event was closed by Diana Ross, who had not given public concerts for a long time but made an exception for the sake of an important event.
The celebration was not limited to the musical program. Choreographic numbers were also performed on the stage, and after midnight the palace turned into a laser show.
According to insiders, Elizabeth II did not attend the concert but decided to spend time at home and relax.
Recall that the celebration of the platinum anniversary began on June 2 with the Trooping the Color military parade.
Almost all members of the royal family gathered to congratulate Elizabeth, in particular Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for whom the arrival in the UK in connection with this event was the first official visit after leaving for the United States. Meanwhile, members of the royal family journeyed to Wales and Northern Ireland as part of celebrations across the UK.
William and his wife Kate got two of their three children, Prince George, 8, and Princess Charlotte, 7, to Cardiff Castle, Wales, before a separate concert on the palace grounds in honor of the Queen.
The Queen’s youngest son, Prince Edward, and his wife, Sophie, visited a 1950s-themed beach entertainment festival in Wessex Counties, Belfast. Edward tried his hand at drawing a pint of Guinness at dinner while Sophie performed a dance of the 50s and 60s.
