Dwayne The Rock Johnson's Daughter Is One Step Closer To An In Ring Debut -

The Pebble does not fall far from the tree.

Before The Rock took on Hollywood by storm, he was the crown jewel of the WWE. A third generation wrestler, Dwayne continued the legacy set by his father, Rocky Soul Man Johnson and grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, when he set foot into the ring the first time. But it seems like the bloodline’s connection to the WWE isn’t over just yet. In 2020, Dwayne’s oldest daughter Simone Johnson signed her contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment at only 18 years of age. Now, 2 years later, Simone has revealed through her twitter that she has finally chosen her stage name. The 20 year old has decided to call herself Ava Raine. With her WWE persona finally having a name to be recognized by, people are anticipating that her in ring debut could be just around the corner.

People had mixed reactions to Simone’s choice of name. While some celebrated the choice and praised Simone, others were insistent that Simone should’ve chosen a name that tied her in ring character more closely to her strong wrestling heritage. Many fans came to Simone’s defense in this regard stating that it is a good choice for her to try and make her own mark on the world of wrestling. Simone herself chose to focus on the positives saying that some people wouldn’t be happy even if she built an entire career around the  name of father.

Dwayne himself has been of the opinion that his daughter should be and will be paving her own way in this business. In 2020, when Simone signed the contract with the WWE, Dwayne said that he is immensely proud that his daughter would want to continue the family legacy and even more proud that she will be making her own mark on the business. Dwayne said that Simone had been working for her dream of being a wrestler since she was 16 years old.

Simone has changed her twitter handle to “AvaRaineWWE” and fans are now waiting with fingers crossed for the 20 year old’s in ring debut.
