‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart will star in Love Bleeds, a romantic thriller set in the world of bodybuilding. Rose Glass, director of the acclaimed British film The Savior, will be directing.
Studio A24, which just released the thriller “Everywhere and At Once,” is backing the film with Film4, a division of Channel 4. Glass herself co-wrote the screenplay with Weronika Tofilska, and sources say the story focuses on the extreme qualities needed to succeed. In the competitive world of bodybuilding.
Stuart is the mistress of a female bodybuilder. At this stage, the project is being described as a romantic story fueled by selfishness, passion, and the American dream.
As a reminder, Glass filmed several shorts before breaking into the feature-length market with a 2019 psychological horror film centered on a possessed nun. The film earned her the Douglas Hickox Award for Best Directorial Debut at the British Independent Film Awards, in addition to 15 other nominations.
The film was also nominated for a BAFTA for “Outstanding British Film of the Year” and “Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.”
