The premiere of a picture from the Harry Potter universe was accompanied by numerous scandals, including the arrest of Ezra Miller in Hawaii.
London premiere of Fantastic Beasts: A Dumbledore Mystery. In addition to the actors, the writer JK Rowling finally appeared on the red carpet, who had to make excuses and was allegedly boycotted by many actors because of his “transphobic” statements and became famous for his book-based films.
Although the premiere went according to all the rules: with a red carpet and photo shoots of stars, the performer of one of the main roles, Ezra Miller, did not appear in it. Miller, who played Credence Barebone in the film, was arrested in Hawaii the day before.
Ezra showed up drunk at a karaoke bar, attacked a woman on stage and then a patron who was playing darts. He was arrested and later released on $500 bail. This isn’t his first drunken brawl. In 2020, he attacked a bar patron in Reykjavik, Iceland. But then the matter was hushed up.
But the rest of the stars did not miss the premiere. The performer of the role of Newt Scamander, Eddie Redmayne, appeared in an elegant black suit with a flower on the lapel and in the company of his wife, Hannah Bagshaw.
Jude Law, who played the young Albus Dumbledore, showed real British chic by complementing the ensemble of a light jacket and trousers with a scarf.
The premiere was also attended by Mads Mikkelsen, who replaced Johnny Depp in the role of the evil wizard Grindelwald. Recall that Depp was fired after his ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of domestic violence. However, Depp still received his fee.
Another sensation was the appearance of JK Rowling. She was accused of transphobia after several posts on social networks. Despite her charitable work and repeated statements that she supports transgender people, Rowling literally declared a boycott.
She was not even invited to the anniversary film dedicated to the pictures of “Harry Potter,” released on New Year’s Eve. But this time, she took to the red carpet and looked amazing in a simple blue dress.
The only actor from the “old” team to attend the premiere was Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Potter films. He was also the leader of the ceremony.
As a reminder, Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets will hit theaters in the UK on April 8, 2022, with a US release a week later on April 15.
