Wendy Williams is a radio and television show host, and there’s no question that she has fostered a career for herself by mostly talking about the personal lives of other celebrities and A-listers.
She rarely talks about her own misgivings and failures, unless the story has been thrust into the headlines by a third-party, like what happened when everyone found out her ex-husband had cheated on her with another woman.
As it was previously reported, Kevin Hunter had cheated on Wendy with a woman named Sharina Hudson, and they even had a baby together. This incident prompted Wendy and Kevin’s split, in addition to Kevin’s exit from his role as executive producer on The Wendy Williams Show.
Fast-forward to today, and Wendy is talking a bit more about what has happened in her life, including when she was raped. During a promotional segment for her new biopic on Lifetime, Wendy Williams: The Movie, the host shared that the 1980s singer-songwriter, Sherrick, supposedly raped her.
Mr. Sherrick died in 1999, Hot New Hip Hop claims. According to the host, she was a big fan of him at the time and agreed to go out on a date with him. She said, unfortunately, that she was raped by the R&B singer before a party one evening.
Wendy said she had done an interview with him, but he managed to flip it around and make it all about her instead. He was so charming, and he invited her to an album release party. She says he raped her before they went to it.
Wendy went on to say that such a predicament happens to women all of the time, and it has happened for a long time. According to Hot New Hip Hop, the new Wendy Williams biopic is scheduled for release on the 30th of January.
Regarding her split from her estranged ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, Wendy said in the clip that she has “no regrets” in her life, and she’s now living her “best life.” Followers of the media personality know she collapsed behind set one day and had to take time off.
