The Matrix first came out in the late 1990s and it has been an iconic movie ever since. The original movie featured Keanu Reeves, Lawrence Fishburne, and Carrie-Anne Moss, and it has gone on to spawn several sequels.
Reportedly, The Matrix 4 is coming out sometime next year, and Action Bronson, the rapper, requested a role in the movie. During a recent interview with NME, Action explained that he had actually auditioned for a part in Matrix 4 but didn’t get it.
Action said to the outlet that he “definitely didn’t get the role.” He said that if he got the role, he would’ve been in it “hanging off a wire from a bridge or something.” He read for it, but the whole experience was “bizarre,” the rapper explained.
As for why he didn’t get the part, Action says a big part of the reason is probably that they never got to see him in person. “It was during COVID and the reading was over the phone,” the rapper remarked, adding that it was a “weird situation.”
Bronson says it isn’t enough to just get a little “snippet” over the phone; a person has to see him in person to “take in the Baklava experience.” At the moment, it’s not clear what The Matrix 4 will be about, but the movie has been in the headlines for other reasons this year.
The Matrix 4 was just one of the films that were postponed on account of the coronavirus pandemic. When the coronavirus pandemic first started sweeping through the United States, film studios and movie theaters had to shut down, with The Matrix 4 being one of them.
