In the era of reboots, it’s only right to at least attempt to bring back the original stars in some capacity especially to please the OG fans. Lark Voorhies revealed months ago that she was not invited to the reboot for Saved By the Bell — but now they’ve seemingly made it right.
Lark gave an update on her life and mental health struggles. She touched on the show and talked about being left out from the revival which includes nearly all of the main characters.
‘I have to admit I did feel a bit slighted and hurt when I was not invited to be part of the Saved by the Bell reunion, as well as other cast members events. Yet, of course, I also realized that having this puzzling disorder may have played a major part in that factual decision. With that in mind, I am truly thankful for having had the chance to work on a show that has been so successful.’
Fans immediately proposed a boycott which picked up for quite some time after the interview. Recently, a snippet of the trailer was shown and Lark was not included.
However, she took to social media today looking happy and healthy where she announced that she would be reprising her role as Lisa Turtle.
Followers could not be more excited and bombarded her usually sparse comment section.
‘You look amazing Lark! So glad you could play a part in the reboot. Wouldn’t be the same without you,’ one fan said.
Another commented: ‘This is awesome! They should have Lisa be a fashion design instructor. You rock! Lookin good!;
This person added: ‘Yay!!! You were my absolute favorite! I wanted to be Lisa Turtle. Such wonderful news and many blessings to you.’
‘Now this makes me super happy!!!!! Can’t have Save By The Bell without Lisa!!’ one follower added.
It’s great to see that they’ve found a way to include the original star.
