Jacob Blake’s sister is speaking out about positive change in America and how important it is that it is achieved. As you know, her brother was shot by a police officer in the back no less than 7 times and has been paralyzed as a result.

During a press conference, Letetra Wideman, delivered a powerful speech after days of protests and outrage over yet another unarmed Black man getting shot by the police.

‘When you say the name Jacob Blake, make sure you say father, make sure you say cousin, make sure you say son, make sure you say uncle, but most importantly make sure you say human. Human life. Let it marinate in your mind. A human life. Just like every single one of y’all. We’re human, and his life matters,’ Letetra stated.

The shooting was caught on a phone camera and it quickly went viral.

Furthermore, it appears that at the time, Jacob’s three young sons were in the back seat of his car where he was shot, witnessing everything.

Blake received prompt treatment upon being rushed to the nearest hospital.

According to the family’s attorney, they have been informed that Blake will most likely be left paralyzed after the unnecessary shooting.

‘So many people have reached out to me, telling me they’re sorry that this happened to my family. Well, don’t be sorry because this has been happening to my family for a long time, longer than I can account for. This is nothing new,’ the sister of Jacob Blake explained.

She went on to say that she feels numb and hasn’t cried in years.

After all, as a Black history minor, she explained, she’s been watching such crimes happen to people who look like her both in her 30 years as well as from before she was born via her education.

‘I’m not sad. I don’t want your pity. I want change,’ she stressed in the end.
