In the aftermath of George Floyd’s tragic death, Khloe Kardashian took to social media to share a lengthy and deeply personal letter reacting to it! It looks like it took the Keeping Up with the Kardashians quite a while to complete the powerful statement since she was a few days late compared to many other vocal celebrities.
That being said, Khloe admitted that she was afraid for her daughter, True, since she would have to grow up in such an unfair, unbalanced society and deal with racism.
She started by stressing that, like many others, she was ‘angry, heartbroken and disgusted by the murder of George Floyd. We’ve seen this too many times. Black people have been discriminated, victimized and murdered for too long, and they have shown superhuman resiliency in the face of constant adversity.’
While Khloe is rather privileged since she is white, the same cannot be said about her child.
The 2 year old, fathered by basketball player Tristan Thompson, would definitely be at a disadvantage in the States and so, Khloe admitted that she was scared for her future.
‘It breaks my heart to think about the parents having to teach their kids how to stay alive. No father should ever fear for his son’s safety every time that he steps foot out the door. No mother should live in fear like that, and as I think about my daughter, my future children, and all our children, I know we have to create a better future for them. One filled with love, light, compassion and not one filled with hatred and ignorance,’ the worried mother shared.
The Kardashian promised to instill in her daughter a lot of love for others with no prejudice regardless of ‘the color of their skin, their sexuality or their religious beliefs.’
She then argued that no one is born racist and that it’s all taught.
Khloe also encouraged people to fight for equality and a better future!
